Hi All,

I am sorry that I have not been able to attend your lovely networks this week… (and I was on 1/2 term last week).

I can’t formally announce anything… but, I would like you to have the confidence to be able to say to your networks that we are ‘on it’ in terms of the new funding that has been announced this week.

However, any grants will not be just a re-run of Lockdown 1…

Many of your micro businesses work from home, and as before, won’t necessarily be eligible.

At the moment, there are short – term grants for those who have to close, and then there is a longer term fund, which we need more clarity on.

Bear with us – but if you want to say something, then ENC and BCW will run similar (hopefully identical) programmes… (that would be a first for Northamptonshire!!)

We will have a formal update next week. Best not to get hopes up too much… initial grants will target those businesses that are required to close (e.g. a pub that can’t be a pub… but might offer some takeaway, or a hairdresser can’t open at all).

Our (ENC) Comms is here:

And the link on that page to the business support pages will tell you what HM Govt has released publicly. if you want to read it…

The ENC Comms team looks after BCW – so should be the same message for both… happy days.

If you want to talk to me direct – you know where I am – and you can of course refer individual business to me direct if they come to you…

Lastly – we have seen a big spike in calls to our business support helpline over the past week. 01604-892328…. The FSB offer was snapped up, and has been extended and is still free to ENC … other offers available, and more coming for Welly businesses in the pipeline… KBC business can call that hotline which is worth it, but wont get all our goodies I’m afraid.

Best wishes to you and your networks.
